Easter Reader

Welcome to the Bellevue Chapel Easter Reader 2017! Elements of the Easter story may be familiar, even if in places we are a little fuzzy on the details. Three gospels take us from the Last Supper to the Resurrection in three short chapters each (John’s gospel takes slightly longer). We seem to get a whistle-stop tour spanning the Last Supper, Gethsemane, Judas’ betrayal, Peter’s denial, His trial, mocking & suffering, the execution and the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour. It is almost easy to rush through it hastily without taking time to ponder.

It is an incredible blessing to have 29 contributions from across Bellevue, to remind us not only of these landmarks, but of the glorious detail!  These reflections reveal so much of what was fulfilled, promised and accomplished in the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that as we read through the Easter story afresh we would be blessed daily by these thoughtful contributions, and gain a deeper insight into what Christ’s death and resurrection means for us today.
