Advent Reader 2020

This Advent Season we reflect together on a year of the unexpected, not only for us, but for Mary and Joseph.

From the announcement of Jesus’ birth, through to His arrival, Mary and Joseph experienced a year of wedding plans interrupted and jeopardized, of exile from their home and isolation from their families.

This experience will resonate with us.

2020, although significant in our lifetime, is not unlike other years in history.  However there is only one year in which our Saviour Christ Jesus arrived into this world, and redefined our history.

As we journey with Joseph and Mary this Advent season may we remember that the hope that sustained them, and that sustains us through the hardships, is far greater than hope for a vaccine, and one that saves us from a fate far worse than any virus.
