Our second outing in Luke’s account of the birth of the Church, called to continue the work Jesus had begun through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, takes us from Jerusalem to Europe. The great Gospel of grace is proclaimed far and wide despite persecution and opposition. Many are added to the kingdom of God! The redemption work of God is unstoppable and ignores any human boundaries.
We’ll be spending a bit of time journeying with Paul. Yet many other characters will demand our attention. It is our hope that this section of the adventure will deepen our sense of calling to spread the Good News. I hope it will cultivate a growing dependence on God’s Spirit. May His Word bring courage, boldness, confidence and joy as we join the early disciples in this crucially important task. “Go and make disciples”, Jesus said. That’s what we want Bellevue to be all about with passion and perseverance!
